I can’t believe Thanksgiving is around the corner.  It feels like we only just finished summer.  I know a lot of stores started putting their Christmas decorations up before Halloween.  I start feeling that Holiday rush to get as much done as possible in as little amount of time as possible earlier and earlier every year.  

I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid, I remember dreaming about the perfect Christmas and never quite having it.  Don’t get me wrong…our Christmases were nice.  My mother and grandmother made amazing meals and we had plenty of family and friends over….but well, we’re Italian so there was a whole bunch of arguing and stress during prep time.  Plus, mom and nana almost never sat down during the meal.  As a matter of fact, I barely remember them eating at all on a holiday.  There was way too much work to be done.  

Christmas was almost never white, and if it was, that brought a whole other set of challenges with it. Thanksgiving was always kind of boring and people are always running out to get ready for their Black Friday Shopping….and don’t even get me started on the whole money thing.  

As the years went on, people died, children grew up, divorces happened, as well as a host of other stuff that came with life.  I know I mentioned this before, but this year, I have an opportunity to create something different for the holidays….and I am.  I’m not quite sure what they’ll look like yet, but I’m following the energy and creating…..and it’s opening doors that I never knew existed….plus, it’s fun.
